THURSDAY 15
Reds save England
Two late goals from Peter Crouch and Stevie Gerrard saved Englands blushes as they struggled to overcome Trinidad & Tobago in todays World Cup game.
England never got going and had to reply on Crouchs 83rd minute far post header to finally defalte the energetic Carribeans.
Gerrard had been largely anonymous until he hit a sweet curling left foot shot into the net.
Jamie Carragher, as expected, started at right back while Scott Carson was on
the bench

Hamann: My heart is with Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann will make a decision over a move to Bolton this week but will leave Anfield only reluctantly.
The Merseysiders are looking for a buyer for the former Germany international and only Bolton have shown interest in the 32-year-old who is expected to cost around £500,000.
Hamann, who has already held talks with Bolton manager Sam Allardyce, told the Daily Mirror: "My heart is with Liverpool, but I have to do what's right. The decision to sell me has not come as a shock, but deciding whether to go or not is very hard.
"I'll be back in England later this week and that's when I'll decide whether to go to Bolton. They're the only club which have shown any interest."

Crouch hoping to qualify today
Peter Crouch is hoping England can wrap up qualification for the knockout stages of the World Cup later today.
Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago's 0-0 draw coupled with England's 1-0 win over Paraguay last Saturday means England can guarentee qualification for the second round of the World Cup if they beat the Carribbean side this afternoon.
Peter Crouch is confident England can get the win they need but says nobody in the England squad will understimate their opponents.
"We all believe going into the next couple of games that we will get the right results. The important game is the next one because it means we will go through to the second round if we win it," says the Liverpool striker.
"But it is always going to be difficult in a World Cup. Trinidad proved that against Sweden in the last game. They are going to be difficult to break down but we are confident we can beat them.
"We want to finish top of our group and get the right result in the last game as well."

WEDNESDAY 14
Neville injury opens door for Carragher
England defender Gary Neville has a calf injury and is a major doubt for Thursday's World Cup Group B game against Trinidad & Tobago.
The Manchester United full-back pulled out of training only 15 minutes into England's final session in the Frankenstadion.
Liverpool's Jamie Carragher is the ideal man to step in but Sven has worryingly revealed that although Carra is an option, he could field Owen Hargreaves instead.

Xabi scores in Spain victory
Xabi Alonso scored Spain's opener in their win over Ukraine in Group H of
the World Cup.
Alonso scored a rare headed goal from a corner to give Spain a 13th minute lead before David Villa, a supposed Reds target netted from a deflected free kick four minutes later.
After the break Villa converted a contentious penalty, which saw Ukraine reduced to 10 men and Fernando Torres scored a fourth.
Alonso was substituted after 55 minutes and Luis Garcia lasted 77 minutes before coming off while Pepé Reina was on the bench.

Fowler casts doubt on Eriksson effect
Robbie Fowler believes if England win the World Cup this summer it will be the players - and not Sven-Goran Eriksson - who deserve the credit.
The Liverpool forward had little joy at international level following Eriksson's appointment and the 31-year-old is certainly not one of the Swede's greatest fans.
However, Fowler feels the disappointing performance in England's opening group game against Paraguay was indicative of Eriksson's reign.
"If England are going to upset the odds and deliver on the biggest stage of all, it will be in spite of Eriksson rather because of him," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"You can't escape the feeling that something isn't right and that must come down to the manager.
"I've nothing personal against Eriksson - despite playing under him for a few years, I barely know him - these are just concerns I know many fans have."

Agent confirms his client wants Liverpool move
The agent of Daniel Alves has confirmed that his client is holding out for a move to Liverpool despite interest from other clubs.
Sevilla and Liverpool have agreed a fee in principal for the player but additional clauses that could be triggered over time could see that fee rise by as much as £4million in total and that's what's causing problems.
Providing an update, Jose Rodriguez Baster said: "I can say that, without any doubts, the player wants to go to Liverpool.
"Personally I have not listened to any other club, although some have rung and I have passed them on to Sevilla, but what Daniel wants to is to play for Liverpool.
"The two sides are getting closer, we are still quite a way apart.
"Daniel was not looking to leave Sevilla, but there are times when - without actually having forced the issue - you want to improve yourself."

Liverpool cleared to sign Alves
Sevilla have reluctantly agreed to sell defender Daniel Alves to Liverpool, but say the Reds have yet to match their asking price, believed to be £8m.
The 23-year-old has long been a target for Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido said: "We're already talking big money but Sevilla don't want to lose Daniel.
Del Nido added: "Liverpool have not yet made us an offer which is acceptable. Until they meet our asking price, there's no deal."

Boca eager to face Liverpool
Boca Juniors are still hoping to play Liverpool in the Super Intercontinental Cup, but are aware that there are difficulties standing in the way.
The game is supposed to pit the winners of the Uefa Super Cup against the South American champions.
However, Liverpool, who defeated CSKA Moscow in the battle of the Uefa and UEFA Champions League victors, are having problems scheduling the fixture around their other commitments.
"We have received a letter from Uefa that says this game has to be played," said Boca vice president Pedro Pompilio.
"They suggested that we play it with as many regular first team players as possible.
"It's been difficult because Liverpool doesn't have many spare dates.
"We have spoken about playing two matches - in Buenos Aires and at Anfield - and also about the chance of playing one match at the Bernabeu.
"The officials of Liverpool have said that if we want to play the match we should go to England."

Alves keen on Reds move
Sevilla star Daniel Alves has informed the club he would like to move to Liverpool.
The Reds have been chasing the 23-year-old for some time and they have already seen a couple of bids for him rejected by Sevilla.
Sevilla know they face a fight to keep hold of Alves with the likes of Barcelona and Milan also monitoring his situation.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed Alves is keen on a move to Liverpool and that they are trying to thrash out a deal for the Brazilian.
"We don't want to sell him but when a player wants to leave you can't force him to stay," said Del Nido.
"He has told us he likes Liverpool's offer though he isn't pressuring us.
"They have come back to us with a new offer but we have rejected it."
Sevilla are believed to be holding out for £12 million for Alves and Liverpool will be hoping they can reach a compromise so that they can bring the versatile performer to Anfield.

Wigan closing in on Liverpool swoop

Wigan Athletic have confirmed they have nearly agreed a deal to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on a season-long loan.
The former Coventry City ace is surplus to requirements at Anfield, but it was thought Reds boss Rafa Benitez had demanded the player leave on a permanent basis, thus securing a transfer fee.
However, Latics assistant boss Chris Hutchings has revealed to the Wigan Observer that talks are at an advanced stage to bring the player to the JJB Stadium:
"Hopefully we'll have Chris coming in to join us on a year's loan. John Benson said Liverpool were due to get back in touch."
