Report: Juve
want Kuyt for £28m
Football 365
Juventus are ready to launch a £28m bid for Dirk Kuyt,
according to frankly unbelievable reports in Italy.
Il Corriere Dello Sport claims that negotiations will begin next week as
Juventus seek a replacement for Pavel Nedved.
The Czech star's agent Mino Raiola has told Juve that he will not accept a
pay-as-you-play deal so the Old Lady have apparently turned to Kuyt instead.
Any bid would inevitably test the relationship between Liverpool boss Rafael
Benitez and the club's American owners as Kuyt is clearly one of Benitez's
favourite players.

Report:
Agger set
to join AC Milan
Soccernet
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is set for a move to AC
Milan if reports in Denmark are to be believed.
The Danish international defender has failed to recover his first-team place
after missing the entire 2007-8 season with a foot injury. Agger has been
reportedly unhappy with the lack of opportunities and the lack of a new
contract.
Despite injury to Martin Skrtel, Agger has made just nine appearances for
Liverpool.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that his representative Per Steffensen
met San Siro sporting director Ariedo Braida and Italian agent Rino Foschi
for lunch in Milan this week.
Danish website Tipsbladet says that the Rossoneri wanted the defender, who
starred for the Reds in their run to the 2007 Champions League Final they
lost to Milan, as a replacement for Alessandro Nesta, on whom injuries have
taken their toll.
Tipsbladet reports that a fee of 60 million kroner, around £7.5m, has been
agreed.

Sevilla ask
Liverpool about Pennant
By Arjun Miglani - Goal.com
Sevilla are the latest club to enter the race for
Liverpool's want-away winger, Jermaine Pennant.
According to the News of the World, Sevilla see the winger as the ideal man
to add an attacking threat to their side, which has been unusually quiet in
that regard this season.
The problem, however, is that Pennant is thought to be keen to see out his
Liverpool contract, thus enabling him to leave on a Bosman in the summer.
Should Sevilla wish to pursue their interest in the player, they will have
to ward off competition form a host of other clubs, most notably Real Madrid
and AC Milan.

El Zhar a
target for Spanish side
By Laurent Picard - Setanta Sports
Spanish top flight side Malaga are willing to secure a
loan deal for Liverpool midfielder Nabil El Zhar according to reports.
Twenty-two-year-old Moroccan El Zhar has only appeared eight times for The
Reds this term, and Malaga are rumoured to have approached him regarding a
short-term deal.
Rafa Benitez is yet to play the French-born star in his starting XI this
season, but is believed to have been impressed by his recent displays.
Malaga’s economical situation is not great, as a consequence, sporting
director Ricardo Rodriguez has revealed he is currently trying to sign young
players on a loan basis.
Rodriguez said: “We are working on young players in the European market.
“The list is long and nothing’s for sure yet.”

Liverpool
want cut-price
£1.5m deal for Emile Heskey
By Alan Nixon - Daily Mirror
Emile Heskey wants to go back to Liverpool - and Rafa
Benitez is trying to sign him in a bargain-basement move this month.
Wigan's England stiker has told close friends he is keen to go back to the
Kop and be part of their trophy-chasing squad.
Aston Villa and Tottenham are interested, but Heskey, 30, has his heart set
on a return to Anfield - the club he regretted leaving just before Rafa
Benitez arrived.
Insiders claim Heskey will definitely join Liverpool in the summer for
nothing - and that gives the Merseysiders the chance to broker a cut-price
deal now.
Benitez wants Heskey for as low as £1.5m, with Wigan valuing him in the
region of £4m.

Report: Milan
prepare Agger offer
By Glenn Debattista - Goal.com
The Rossoneri are expected to take advantage of the
difficult contract situation between Liverpool and Agger by offering a
contract to the player which will please all the involved parties.
According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are preparing to
make an offer for Daniel Agger as his contract situation with Liverpool
seems to be more complicated than ever.
The Rossoneri want to offer between €8 to €8.5 million to the Reds, which
could please the English club. Rafael Benitez's side will still want to
think their decision over well before coming to a conclusion because of
their involvement in all major four competitions as they will need to have a
strong squad for the remainder of the season.
Another hint that Liverpool might allow Agger to go arrives from the English
media who are reporting that Benitez's team is interested in signing Glen
Johnson from Portsmouth.
Milan will have to wait a few more days before a final decision is taken,
but, in the meantime, the Rossoneri are also looking around for other
defenders in order to bolster a rearguard that has been hit by injuries and
has looked fragile throughout these first few months of the season.
Agger, a 24-year-old defender, has been at Liverpool since 2006 following
his move from Brondby.
